We discussed a collaborative writing assessment between English and social studies and the use of a shared rubric.

We feel we could use some meeting time to work with social studies concerning the topic of writing. We did this successfully in the past when the two departments worked together revising the English literature to match the social science curriculum. Since this accomplishment/work in progress, the literature and social science scope and sequence was then blended with the FLEX curriculum and this year we are working cooperatively.

On the topic of responsibility. For example, we feel we need to clarify the differences bewteen the 7th grade English literature curriculum and the 7th grade Team defintions. Within the English 7th grade curriculum, responsibility has been defined as social responsibility to humanity and community where as the 7th grade Team definition focuses upon citizenship and daily practices.

In the High School--
We spent half the meeting looking at wikis as instructed.
We discussed the grammar scope and sequence.
We discussed terminology for skills.
We discussed meeting at grade levels for discussions on writing assessment, writing assignments, and standardized rubrics.
We planned to have a meeting with Ana M on Active Boards.
